The subject property is located at the signalized intersection of West Stan Schlueter Loop and Old FM 440 Road, directly west of Fort Hood Street/TX-195, the city’s major north-south thoroughfare. In addition to the newly-constructed H-E-B, other retailers in the immediate area include Exxon, Taco Bell, McDonald’s, Subway, and Chevron. The city of Killeen is located on US Highway 190/Interstate 14 in the heart of the Grand Central Texas Region. Interstate 14 is a six-lane divided interstate that connects the east side of Copperas Cove to Interstate 35, a NAFTA corridor from Mexico to Canada. The designation of Interstate 14 is part of an overall transportation plan to connect “Forts to Ports”. The continued development of I-14 will connect military installations to U.S. ports to improve the mobility of military equipment during deployments.
